In 1997, President Mike Fanger founded Eastern Funding based on over 23 years experience in the commercial lending industry that a large number of owners of growing small to mid market businesses were being ignored by large lending institutions due to an automated loan evaluation mentality.

His belief was that these businesses could build wealth. But fit was the key to unlocking relationships. To achieve this, Eastern’s practice was initially focused on the specialized finance needs of the laundry, dry cleaning and grocery sectors.

Brian Grell joined Eastern with over ten years of experience as a custom finance and controller in the coin operated laundry sector. And today serves as Eastern's Executive Vice President. All of Eastern’s staff were then hired and are hired for their complimentary backgrounds. And everyone at Eastern is trained to be aware of the particulars of each client’s account. While Eastern has expanded its practice in the ensuing years to include financing/leasing for telecommunications equipment, commercial parking facilities, legal, medical and dental practices, this personal attention has been and will be a constant.
